SAMBURU BUFFALO SPRING & SHABA RESERVE
It’s located 331 kms north of Nairobi and set within the beautiful colorful lands of the Samburu pastoralists. This reserve hosts rarely found species like Grevy Zebras, Blue legged Somali Ostrich, long-necked Gerenuk (Antelope Giraffe) and Reticulated Giraffes.
Samburu is a hot zone as a result of Equatorial sun. It’s watered by River Ewaso Nyiro which has lots of Hippos and Nile crocodile. Within the Samburu you may also spot the rear Leopards.When you get within the Shaba you will experience sharp contrast of a Riverine forest around the four springs within its rugged wilderness.

MERU NATIONAL PARK
Meru is a savannah national park, 35 km East of Maua town in the North Eastern Lowlands below the Nyambeni Hills, covering about 870km2.Meru is part of a complex of protected areas along the Tana River that includes the adjacent Bisanadi and Mwingi Reserves (to the east and south respectively), Kora national park and Rahole national reserve. The wetter North western sector is hilly, with rich volcanic soil.
It provides a stunning combination of diverse habitat; Covered by dense riverine forest that attracts Leopards and a full complement of the Big Five. It’s also home to Black Rhinos and hundreds of birds of different species. This is where you find Mulika Swamp and the noisy Adamson’s fall at the converging point of Rojweru and Tana Rivers.
The most significant thing about Meru is that it’s remembered as the setting where Elsa, Joy Adamson’s Lioness was returned to the Wild.

SHIMBA HILLS
It covers 192 sq kms and 30 kms away from Mombasa comprising of Rainforest opening out into gentle hills, rolling savannah and riverine forest.
At the Shimba Hills you will experience cool climate as a result of sea breezes. During your visit be sure to spot elephants, giraffes, numerous species of antelopes and a few lions.
